WILLIAMSBURG — A woman was arrested last week after police said she used a credit card belonging to the Williamsburg Resident Council for personal purchases, totaling several thousand dollars.
According to the Williamsburg Police Department, Officer Bryson Lawson began an investigation on September 8 into the fraudulent use of a credit card connected to the council. During the investigation, Lawson reportedly obtained evidence showing that Betsy Linda Sergent, 45, of Corbin, had been in possession of the card and was using it for her own expenses.
