EVANSVILLE — The Indiana Department of Environmental Management has set an Air Quality Action Day for Wednesday in Evansville.

The ozone levels in Southwest Indiana cities, including Bedford, Bloomfield, Evansville, Huntingburg, Mount Vernon, Paoli, Princeton, Rockport, Tell City and Vincennes are expected to be unhealthy for sensitive groups.

This will be the second day this week air quality has be in the unhealthy range. IDEM said continued unseasonably warm temperatures, along with low humidity, sun and light wildfire smoke are contributing factors.

Air Quality Action Days are in effect beginning at midnight. During advisories, residents should limit physical exertion outdoors.
