Nearly two decades after he was diagnosed, former Pitt quarterback and Pittsburgh native Dan Marino opened up about dealing with metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis, otherwise known as MASH. As a part of health care company Novo Nordisk’s Unordinary Stories campaign, Marino, 64, reflected on his diagnosis and his journey toward a healthier life in retirement.
“Anytime you get diagnosed with something, you’re surprised,” Marino said in a promotional video published by Novo Nordisk. “It’s like, ‘What do I have to change?’ And then you have to make that change and it may be a quiet change that no one sees.”
