ROSWELL, N.M. —

State police are investigating a shooting involving officers with the Roswell Police Department.

According to Roswell police, officers with the department were involved in a shooting that happened near North Main Street and Country Club Road in Roswell on Tuesday morning. Officers were originally responding to a report of a domestic disturbance in the area.

Roswell police say the suspect in the incident was shot and later transported to the hospital with a non-life-threatening injury. No officers were injured.

Police say the suspect in the incident was armed with a gun.
