Nebraska offensive coordinator Dana Holgorsen couldn’t be happier.
“I dabbled in it last year for three games,” Holgorsen said Tuesday. “It was awesome. So looking forward to nine of them.”
The former head coach at West Virginia and Houston — who arrived at Nebraska last November — has never faced Michigan. That changes Saturday as league play begins with the first in a parade of tough, physical defenses.
“Opposite of the Big 12, so to speak,” Holgorsen quipped.
The coordinator said “some” of Michigan’s game against Oklahoma — a 24-13 Sooners win earlier this month — is useful. OU was perhaps most effective against the Wolverines' defense through the QB running game led by John Mateer (19 carries for 74 yards and two touchdowns
