KANSAS CITY, Mo. —
A Delta flight heading to New York from Kansas City International Airport had to turn around and go back to MCI after a maintenance problem.

“The flight crew, following expert training and procedures, safely returned to Kansas City after indication of the aircraft's auxiliary power unit overheating,” a Delta spokesperson said. “Delta apologizes to our customers for the delay in their travel plans and appreciates their patience.”
Delta Flight 884 departed at 10:54 a.m. for LaGuardia Airport in New York. The plane was back at MCI at 12:02 p.m. and gated a few minutes later.
Five crew members and 102 passengers were on board the flight. No one was hurt in the incident.
