A 49-year-old London man has died from injuries suffered in a collision between a motorcycle and an SUV in the city’s east end last month, police said on Tuesday.

The motorcyclist, Steven Douglas Smith, 49, succumbed to his injuries in hospital.

Emergency crews responded to the collision on Brydges Street, east of Egerton Street, around 1:50 p.m. on Aug. 15. The rider was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries, police had said at that time.

At the scene, the motorcycle was lying on its side in the middle of the road, while the black SUV was seen near the curb, surrounded by debris. Investigators taped off the area and placed numerous evidence markers.
