The makeover of London’s city hall site will have to wait a little longer as politicians ordered a review of the redevelopment plan after 35 interested parties yielded only one qualified bid.
Politicians unanimously endorsed a move by Ward 8 Coun. Steve Lehman to have city staff report back with more information from the interested parties on why they pulled out, and review what is needed in the redevelopment, along with expenses to keep the existing city hall building in ship-shape.
“I think all of us were disappointed quite frankly . . . I was really looking forward to this day, when we would get interested bids back,” he said. “We’ve been at this now for over 10 years, before my last term of council, its time we get moving on what I think we all realize is much needed.”
