On Tuesday, the ACLU battled it out in the courtroom with Bucks County Sheriff Fred Harran on his move to greenlight a program that would allow deputy sheriffs to be trained as ICE officers.
Back in April, Sheriff Fred Harran explained that he had applied to participate in the ICE 287 G Program to have a handful of trained deputies that would utilize a federal immigration database and arrest those who have existing criminal charges and outstanding warrants.

The application was approved by ICE in May, but the ACLU filed a lawsuit to fight that motion.
The ACLU claims that the sheriff made the move illegally because the decision should have been made by the Bucks County Commission
