OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Volleyball fans turned out in full force to watch the Huskers-Bluejays “Battle of I-80″ match on Tuesday night.

With 17,675 in attendance, the sold-out crowd hit the all-time NCAA record for the largest regular-season, volleyball-only indoor crowd. The previous attendance record was a 2023 matchup in Milwaukee, when Marquette hosted Wisconsin before 17,037 fans at Fiserv Forum.

Downtown Omaha’s construction entanglements couldn’t stop fans from getting in for Tuesday night’s match between No. 18 Creighton and top-ranked Nebraska.

The Bluejays (5-4), return to the CHI Health Center for the first time this season. The program just installed a new Taraflex court, among other improvements, at D.J. Sokol Arena.
