As the opening date for Project Grace approaches, the former downtown Wilmington library is one step closer to demolition.
The former New Hanover County Library at 201 Chestnut St. is being emptied in preparation for the new location. County communications coordinator Alex Riley confirmed all library assets have been relocated to the new facility. The building is expected to be completely empty by Thanksgiving on Nov. 27. The location closed its doors on Aug. 4.
