During Tuesday night’s game against the Athletics, the Red Sox shortstop tallied two stolen bases in the first five innings, making him a perfect 30 for 30 on stolen base attempts this season.

In doing so Story joined an exclusive club and now has a chance to set MLB history.

According to the Red Sox, Story is the fourth player in the expansion era to be successful on their first 30 stolen base attempts in a season. The other three were Trea Turner in 2023 (30), Carl Crawford in 2009 (30) and Vince Coleman in 1989 (44).
