SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) - The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) has unveiled new plans to alleviate traffic congestion at the intersection of Reidville and Anderson Mill Roads in Spartanburg County.

From 2019 to 2021, there have been approximately 100 reported car accidents at this busy intersection, prompting the need for a redesign to improve safety and traffic flow.

"There are frequent crashes and part of that is due to the congestion," said Ginny Jones, SCDOT's Public Involvement Director.

SCDOT reports that around 30,000 cars travel Reidville Road daily, contributing to regular traffic backups and accidents.
