TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - A Tucson man is in custody after allegedly assaulting a 14-year-old boy on his way to catch the school bus. Joshua Dale Pierce is accused of attacking the teenager near 29th Street and Columbus Avenue.
Pierce was a few months away from completing probation for a previous conviction when the alleged assault took place on Monday morning. According to court documents, the young victim briefly lost consciousness after being punched in the face. The suspect then demanded the boy's backpack and phone, asking him to unlock the phone to call his mother. The victim sustained a chipped tooth and a cut under his right eye that required stitches. Residents in the area expressed concern over the incident. "That sounds messed up and sounds scary in the community
