PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - The Oregon State Senate says they are once again delaying the vote on a bill that would fund the Department of Transportation by raising vehicle registration fees.

The vote was initially pushed back from its initial date on Sept. 3 to Wednesday, Sept. 17, so the Senator Chris Gorsek (D-Gresham) could recover from a complication that arose during a planned medical procedure in August.

Now, the special session has been delayed until interim legislative days on Sept. 29 through Oct. 1 after Senate President Rob Wagner (D-Lake Oswego) received a letter from Gorsek’s medical team saying it would be “medically unsafe and unwise for Sen. Gorsek to leave the hospital at this time.”
