PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - A local security guard is on the road to recovery after he was assaulted near the Central Library in Downtown Portland.

The violent incident took place just a month after a deadly shooting in the same area, and about two weeks before a stabbing that left a man injured.

Victim William Lamm is still figuring out how his shift as a security guard landed him in the hospital with a head injury.

“This is actually my second head injury. I was in a coma for 17 days back when I was 20. I fell off a roof, and like this time, no memory whatsoever,” said Lamm.

He said a responding Portland officer had video of the assault and told him what happened. He was assaulted on August 9th while working security outside the Jeffrey Center on Southwest 10th and Taylor Street, next door
