New Covid variant spreading in UK has one key symptom to look out for

For many, Covid may seem like a concern of yesteryear. However, a new variant is making its way into the UK, going unnoticed and causing symptoms that could be easily mistaken for something else as the new strain rapidly spreads.

The latest Covid strain, dubbed Stratus, has two subvariants, XFG and XFG. 3, with XFG.3 responsible for 40 per cent of cases in England as of June this year. This strain is spreading swiftly, marked by distinct early warning signs.

Health officials in Ireland have recorded 425 new infections in the first week of September, with the Stratus variant believed to be behind the vast majority of these recent cases.
