HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) - The Warrick Humane Society (WHS) will soon reopen.

The organization was forced to evacuate its building on Vann Road due to the September 6 chemical fire at PBTT. We're told the shelter will re-open to the public on September 17.

WHS officials say they have started returning animals to the building. They also say all A/C units are being cleaned following EPA and IDEM recommendations. Additionally, IDEM has advised the shelter's gravel can not be cleaned of ash residue, so a new layer of gravel will be added soon.

Just down the road from WHS, Vann Park is also getting back to normal. Visitors were welcomed back to the park on September 16.
