AUSTIN (KXAN) -- No. 8 Texas sounds a lot better than it looked when the Longhorns laced up against UTEP, another non-conference opponent, Saturday in Darrell K. Royal Memorial Stadium and walked away with a 27-10 win.

With all due respect to the UTEP Miners, a 17-point win for Texas is far from the standard, and if it weren't for a stout defense, the win margin could have been much closer.

"We're not worried about our offense," linebacker Liona Lefau said to the media. "We see what they do every single day in practice. We understand nobody's perfect. They're never going to have perfect game, we're never going to have a perfect game, so we believe in them."

The Longhorns' defense finished the game with two interceptions and allowed only 259 yards from the Miners.
