Rail services around Leicester will be disrupted this weekend as part of a major £600,000 project. Passengers are being warned to expect changes to timetables to cope with the works.
Network Rail has issued the warning to anyone traveling north or south from Leicester by train this weekend as the section of track known as the Syston North Curve is going to be replaced on Saturday (September 20). As the track is a bend, National Rail says it takes more strain from heavy freight trains than other sections of the Midland Main Line and needs to be relaid more often.
