MARIETTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A Marietta man has been convicted of murdering and neglecting his wife, according to the Cobb County District Attorney’s Office.
On Sept. 10, Gary Williams was found guilty of felony murder and neglect by a jury and was sentenced to life in prison by Superior Court Judge Kellie Hill.
According to court records, Williams’ wife was admitted to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital and put on maximum-level life support on Nov. 9, 2021. She died the next day from blood poisoning.
The district attorney’s office said an employee with Adult Protective Services visited the victim in the hospital and “reported numerous injuries.”
