Fruita Monument stayed undefeated in Southwestern League play Monday with a 13-3 mercy rule win at home against Montrose.

The Wildcats struck for three runs in the first inning, four in the second, and five in the fifth to build an insurmountable early lead over their opponents.

Shortstop Addison Cutshall was just a single shy of the cycle in Monday’s win. The junior hit a leadoff home run in the bottom of the first inning and followed it up with a second-inning double and a third-inning RBI triple to finish the day 3-4 with three runs scored and two driven in.
