MEDFORD, Ore. — Medford residents are invited to an upcoming open house in October to help the City Council shape its Transportation Safety Action Plan (TSAP)- a community effort seeking to reduce and ultimately eliminate serious injuries and fatalities on Medford’s streets.

The TSAP, currently supported by a $400,000 grant from the Federal Highway Administration’s Safe Streets for All program and an additional $100,000 from gas tax revenue, emphasizes that no single measure solves safety issues.

It is based on a Safe System Approach , which looks at safer roadway design, responsible driving, vehicle safety, appropriate speeds, and post-crash care.
