LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Great news for those who use the Highlands-Shelby Park Library inside Mid-Cty Mall. The Louisville Free Public Library and Mayor Craig Greenberg, D-Louisville, announced a new lease has been signed and they are expanding the library’s hours.

The library will add Sunday hours, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. beginning Nov. 2. In a release from the library, the new lease runs through June 28, 2026.

“I am so excited to expand hours at the Highlands-Shelby Park Library, increasing access for the community,” said Interim Executive Director Barbara Sexton Smith. “I’m also thankful to Mayor Greenberg for his support and Sandy Metz and her team for extending our lease through June of 2026, allowing the Library to continue to provide world-class services at Mid-City Mall.”
