The case against a West Bloomfield man accused of going on a rampage at a Planet Fitness facility — then allegedly tried to run over a police officer and led cops on a high-speed chase — has advanced to Oakland County Circuit Court for possible trial.

At the conclusion of a recent preliminary exam in 48th District Court, Judge Marc Barron bound over the case against Wesley Kihwan Joh, ruling there was probable cause for it to proceed.

Joh, 58, is charged with nine crimes in connection with the alleged incident on Aug. 20, that began at around 9:30 a.m. at the Planet Fitness located at 6433 Orchard Lake Rd. in West Bloomfield.
