Two of the biggest clubs in Europe square off in their 2025-26 UEFA Champions League opener with Bayern Munich hosting Chelsea on Wednesday, Sept. 17.

The Germans have won their first three Bundesliga games of the season, while Chelsea has two wins and two draws from the club's first four in the Premier League. Bayern Munich will be looking to make a deeper run in the knockout stage this year, having been eliminated in the quarterfinals the last five seasons since winning the title in 2020.

"Now begins a long journey, hopefully until May," Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane told reporters. "We back ourselves to beat any team at the Allianz Arena. We're feeling very good right now. If we want to beat Chelsea, we have to perform at our peak... Chelsea did very well at the Club World Cup and right now in the Premier League."
