Olay’s Thai Food Express has reopened with a green “pass” placard after correcting a series of health code violations that forced its closure last week, the Hawaii Department of Health said.
The Aiea restaurant, located at 99-927 Iwaena St. and operated by Dao Heung LLC, was ordered to shut down Sept. 11 after inspectors found problems including insufficient refrigeration, lack of soap and paper towels at handwashing sinks, food stored in reused cardboard boxes and utensils not being properly sanitized. Three of the four refrigerators, including the walk-in unit, were out of temperature and ready-to-eat food was not marked with dates for safe consumption.
