AKRON, Ohio ( WOIO /Gray News) – A school administrator in Ohio was suspended after selling the school district’s lawn mowers on Facebook Marketplace.

Akron Public Schools employee Steven Keenan is accused of selling 11 of the district’s lawn mowers without the board’s approval.

He was reportedly selling them so he could buy new lawn mowers for the district.

The school board suspended Keenan at its meeting on Monday.

The school board, under a recommendation from the superintendent, said it is considering firing Keenan because he violated the staff’s code of ethics.

Keenan was suspended without pay while the board considers his firing.
