FRANKFORT, Ky. — Attorney General Russell Coleman, R-Ky., announced Melvin Haley has been convicted of threatening a Logan County prosecutor and judge.
Haley, 44, made threats against an Assistant Commonealth’s Attorney and the circuit judge. Both were involved in a domestic violence case against Haley. Haley was convicted of felony strangulation in that case and sentenced to three years.
Haley pleaded guilty to the two counts of retaliating against a participant in legal process and, as a condition of the plea, he was sentenced to an additional year. Haley must also stay 500 feet away from the Logan County Courthouse, unless he is required to be there. He can have no contact with the prosecutor or the judge.
