BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) -- A man from Raleigh County was sentenced for a COVID-19 relief fraud scheme.

According to a press release from the United States Department of Justice, on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, 47-year-old Ryan Keith Bailey, of Beaver, was sentenced to one year and two months in prison, followed by three years of parole, and ordered to pay $2,134,900 in restitution for theft of government money.

Bailey reportedly received $2,166,517.40 in loans for his business through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, and used the funds for personal use, according to the press release.
