SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI)-- The San Diego County District Attorney's office announced Wednesday the sentencing of Raymond Lynde, 33, who was convicted of second-degree murder in May after stabbing his sister's former boyfriend 28 times, according to a press release.
According to the report, at the time of the murder, Lynde had just been released from a 12-year prison sentence for committing a series of armed robberies in Orange County.
Lynde was sentenced to 55 years to life in prison for killing Ariel Burquez, 23, in July 2020, when Lynde reportedly ambushed Burquez outside of his apartment complex in Chula Vista and stabbed him 28 times. Burquez collapsed by his front door before succumbing to his injuries.
