WARRICK COUNTY, Ind. (WEHT) -- The Warrick Humane Society announced that their plans to move into a new building have been put on hold.
According to the humane society, the choice was due to the chemical fire that occurred at the at the PBTT facility on September 6. The humane society says they are waiting for guidance from the EPA and Board of Animal Health before construction can continue.
Jodie Holder, Assistant Director of the Warrick Human Society, says that the fire crept all the way up to the property line.
"We had some barricade fencing, plastic of course, that was melted by the fire, but the building, it's just the shell of the building," says Holder. "It's just the exterior put up. There's no windows or doors on yet. So, all the interior, the ductwork, the raw wood material th
