BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- Cindy Holloway was in town on Friday morning to pick up some feed for her ranch. That was when she received a call from a Frazier Mountain High School student, and as soon as she heard his voice on the phone, Holloway immediately knew something was wrong.

Holloway, who was financially sponsoring the student with her husband to help the boy raise a fair pig, said she couldn’t clearly make out what he was saying. However, she could make out the words, “The pig … come to the high school.”

Hearing that, Holloway said she raced to the school and found the student with his pig in a devastating state.

The student, who is a freshman at Frazier Mountain High School, had woken up on Friday and gone to his pig, Pancho, to feed him before classes began -- only to find
