BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- A man was arrested for allegedly possessing marijuana for sale after fleeing from officers and overturning his vehicle in McFarland during the process, according to the McFarland Police Department.

On Wednesday at around 7:41 a.m., McFarland police officers responded to the 200 block of West Perkins Avenue for reports of a man reportedly passed out in his vehicle near the gas pumps at the Velox gas station, according to officials.

Giovanni Capozzi, 23, of Tulare was found at the scene, police said. Capozzi woke up and immediately placed his vehicle in gear into drive and started fleeing from the officers, who began chasing him.
