BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- A man was arrested in Ridgecrest on suspicion of shooting at a home and speeding away, according to the Ridgecrest Police Department.

Officers responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting in the 400 block of North Gold Canyon Drive at around 3:34 p.m. Sept. 16, according to police. The caller said the suspect shot at a home and sped away from the scene.

The Sierra Sands School District administration was notified of the report as three of its schools were located nearby, officials said.

The victim who was unharmed identified the suspect as Nicholas Reyes, 29, through personal knowledge, investigators said. Detectives determined Reyes’ last known address and began surveillance in the area.
