HUBBARDTON, Vt. (WCAX) - Hikes up cliffs to beautiful vistas and Japanese gardens that are a rare find -- it’s all in the Rutland County town of Hubbardton. In this week’s edition of Vermont’s Own , where we’re visiting every town and city across the state, Cat Viglienzoni visited the Taconic Mountains Ramble State Park.
Nestled in the Hubbarton hills, some might call the Taconic Mountains Ramble State Park a hidden gem.
“It’s the waning days of summer, so after years of living here, we finally decided to visit,” said Dik Saalfeld, who along with Kelly Philliips, was visiting the Hubbardton park. The Castleton residents say they heard about this special spot from a friend and took to the trails. They were not disappointed. “My assessment of this is very poetic.”
