RICHFORD, Vt. (WCAX) - One man is in custody after police say he assaulted a teenager on Monday.

According to Vermont State Police, officers responded to a possible assault near Union Street and Province Street in Richford.

Officers determined that 38-year-old Christopher Rooney had assaulted a 16-year-old and fled the scene.

Police found Rooney and arrested him without incident. He is being held at the St. Albans Barracks.

The teen sustained minor injuries and did not need medical attention.
