COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - The South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP) is investigating a fatal crash in Orangeburg County.

According to the Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday at SC-6 at Peach Orchard Street near Vance.

Troopers said the crash happened when a 2014 Kia Soul traveling east on SC-6 drove off the left side of the roadway, then hit a mailbox, and then a tree.

The driver of the Kia Soul was the sole person in the vehicle and succumbed to injuries on scene.

SCHP will continue to investigate the crash.
