EVERGREEN, Colo. (KKTV) - One week after the Evergreen High School shooting, the uncle of one of the shooting victims is sharing their story.
Two students were shot and hospitalized, and one of those was 18-year-old Matthew Silverstone.
The suspected shooter has been identified as 16-year-old Desmond Holly, a student of the school.
As of Wednesday, Silverstone’s uncle Kris Koehler said Silverstone is still in critical condition, fighting for his life in the hospital.
“To see him there, it’s great when he will squeeze a hand, but at the same time, it’s so painful to see that anyone, especially a kid, but anyone, would have to endure that,” Koehler said.
He said Silverstone is an ordinary kid who eats a lot, loves his friends and spends almost every day at the skate park until he’s told
