One of the most accomplished skips in Canadian curling history is hanging up his broom.
Brad Gushue -- winner of six Briers, a world championship and an Olympic gold medal-- announced Wednesday, Sept. 17, on X that the 2025–26 season will be his last in competitive curling.
"Years ago, I created a list of goals I wanted to achieve and I feel like I am among the lucky few who can say they've achieved them," said Gushue. "That made me confident to make that decision now, to leave on a high note with no regrets."
The 45-year-old from St. John’s, N.L., said he wants to spend more time with his wife and two daughters after years of missing important family moments.
A six-time provincial junior champion, Gushue first appeared at the Brier in 2003.
