GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) -- Greensboro Pride Festival returns to downtown this week for its 19th year, but organizers said the months leading up to this big event were tough.

They faced many challenges with funding cuts and political shifts, which caused concern to organizers that the festival wouldn't come together.

Now, in just a few days, LeBauer Park in Greensboro is getting ready for the thousands of people to join in the celebration of pride.

It's a relief for Impaqt GSO organizers who spent long days and nights making the festival happen and dealt with hardships like losing funds from DEI and key sponsors.
