SUN CITY WEST, AZ (AZFamily) — A deadly shooting at a Sun City West independent living community on Monday was a murder-suicide between a husband and wife, according to Maricopa County sheriff’s deputies.

According to the sheriff’s office, detectives have identified the victim as 80-year-old Mary LaFountain and the shooter as 81-year-old Glen Fifarek, who was identified as Mary’s husband.

Details on a possible motive haven’t been released.

Deputies had responded to the shooting at Grandview Terrace near Meeker Boulevard and the U.S. 60 , where LaFountain and Fifarek were found shot. One was found dead at the scene, while the other died after being rushed to the hospital.
