DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — Two SUVs were shot into a day apart from each other in Durham.

The latest shooting happened on Wednesday in the 2000 block of East Pettigrew Street, a block from South Briggs Avenue.

According to the Durham Police Department, an SUV with a woman and two children, ages 8 and 11, was hit by gunfire around 2:30 p.m. The woman said a car began shooting in her direction, striking her vehicle.

At least 24 bullet casings were found at the scene, according to Durham police.

No injuries were reported in the Wednesday incident.

Just a few miles away in the 1000 block of Larchwood Drive near Fayetteville Road, Durham police continue to investigate another shooting less than 24 hours earlier.
