AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A historic week continues at Paine College as the school prepares for the formal inauguration of its 18th president on Thursday.

The events are part of Investiture Week , a tradition that marks the formal installation of a college’s new president.

Dr. Lester McCorn was hired in October and began his term on Jan. 1.

On Wednesday, students, faculty, clergy and community members gathered for an ecumenical worship service.
