SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - As legislators anticipate next week’s special session to possibly approve the new penitentiary project, Governor Larry Rhoden announced another task force on Wednesday.
This new task force will look at rehabilitation services within prison walls.
Throughout the Project Prison Reset Task Force process, legislators heard mounting concerns from the public about recidivism rates and the potential need for better programming and prison reform as they shift to a new building.
