HARRISON, NJ (NEWS10) -- After falling short in the PLL semifinals last season, the New York Atlas were on a mission to capture the championship this year. On Sunday afternoon in New Jersey, that's just what the Atlas did.

New York defeated the Denver Outlaws 14-13 in the title game on Sunday to claim the first championship in franchise history. The Atlas got it done in front of a packed house at Sports Illustrated Stadium.

A pair of fourth quarter goals from Bryan Costabile proved to be the difference in the game. It was a game that went down to the wire with plenty of people watching.
