It was a tale of two Englishmen as Chelsea were beaten 3-1 by Bayern Munich on their return to the Champions League – but the biggest difference was the teams surrounding them.

Harry Kane returned to haunt his old London rivals Chelsea with two decisive goals, taking his tally against them to 10, while Cole Palmer was comfortably the best player on his side.

While Kane had Michael Olise tormenting any defender who came near him and Joshua Kimmich helping pull the strings, Palmer could only watch as Moises Caicedo gave away a silly penalty or Malo Gusto was caught in possession, both gifting the England captain chances he is too good not to finish.
