EL CENTRO — A court hearing in the legal dispute between Imperial County Auditor-Controller Karina B. Alvarez and the Imperial County Board of Supervisors has been postponed by two days, from September 30 to October 2, 2025, due to a scheduling conflict with Alvarez’s attorney.

According to a Stipulation and [Proposed] Order filed in the Imperial County Superior Court, Case No. ECU004112, Alvarez’s lead attorney, Patrick K. Bobko, was unable to attend the original hearing date because of a mandatory meeting in Orange, California, tied to his role as General Counsel for the Orange County Countywide Oversight Board. Bobko noted in a declaration that the board meets only five times a year and the session could not be rescheduled or delegated.
