PIGEON FORGE, Tennessee —Legendary country music singer Dolly Parton caused a bit of scare Wednesday when she missed an event announcing a new ride at her amusement park Dollywood because of a “health issue.”

Parton did appear in a video that was shown during the event, saying that a doctor advised her not to travel because she had kidney stones, WATE Channel 5 reports .

“I had a little problem,” Parton, 79, says in the video, which was posted on social media . “I had a kidney stone that was causing me a lot of problems.

“Turned out [it had] given me an infection and the doctor said ‘You don’t need to be traveling right this minute, so you need a few days to get better’ so he suggested I not go to Dollywood today, but I’m there with you in spirit. ...
