Former South Carolina Gamecocks star quarterback Connor Shaw, who played one NFL game for the Cleveland Browns , was hospitalized Wednesday after collapsing while coaching his son’s football game, according to reports.

Shaw was given CPR at the scene and transported to Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital in South Carolina, according to The State . He remains in the medical ICU in an unknown condition as of Thursday morning.

The game Shaw was coaching in was part of the Simpsonville Recreation Department in Simpsonville, South Carolina, per The State.

Shaw, 33, was South Carolina’s starting quarterback for three of his four seasons from 2011-13, throwing for 6,074 yards, 56 touchdowns and 16 interceptions. He led the Gamecocks to three consecutive 11-win seasons, including a 1
